Kai B. Kang, M.D, certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, specializes in corneal and external diseases and cataract surgery. He diagnoses and treats disorders of the front portion of the eye including corneal infections, inflammatory conditions, corneal dystrophies and degenerations, disorders of the eyelid and conjunctiva. His surgical interests include cataract, corneal transplant, pterygium, and ocular surface neoplasia.
Dr. Kang earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in biochemistry and anthropology from Washington University in St. Louis and a Medical Doctorate with honors from Cornell University. Following graduation, Dr. Kang completed his internship at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City and residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary in Chicago. Dr. Kang furthered his training during a fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary. Prior to joining the Wheaton Eye Clinic, Dr. Kang was Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Dr. Kang is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Cornea Society and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
