Vikram Setlur, M.D. specializes in diseases of the retina and vitreous. He provides laser and surgical treatments for a variety of conditions such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, and retinal detachments.
Dr. Setlur earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in finance summa cum laude from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Medical Doctorate from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he was selected for the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Setlur completed his internship at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, IL and his residency in ophthalmology at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Setlur then completed additional training in vitreoretinal surgery at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Dr. Setlur has given presentations at national meetings on advancements in vitreoretinal surgery. He has published his clinical research in several ophthalmology journals on topics including retinal detachments, diabetic retinopathy, and ocular inflammatory disease.
Dr. Setlur is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Setlur is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
