Cathleen M. Cronin M.D. specializes in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus. She concentrates her practice on the medical treatment of pediatric eye disorders from routine exams for vision problems to strabismus (misaligned eyes), amblyopia (“lazy eye”), eye infections, and eye problems related to prematurity. Dr. Cronin has been examining premature infants for many years and following them as they grow up.
Dr. Cronin graduated from St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana and then earned an M.D. from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. Her internship was at St. Francis Hospital, Evanston. Dr. Cronin then completed her residency in Ophthalmology at Loyola and a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at University of Illinois Chicago Eye and Ear Infirmary. She has been practicing at Loyola and Elmhurst Clinic for many years. At Loyola, Dr. Cronin taught numerous medical students and residents and was involved in research.
Dr. Cronin is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
