Cathleen M. Cronin M.D. specializes in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus. She concentrates her practice on the medical treatment of pediatric eye disorders from routine exams for vision problems to strabismus (misaligned eyes), amblyopia (“lazy eye”), eye infections, and eye problems related to prematurity. Dr. Cronin has examined premature infants for many years and continues to follow them as they age.
Dr. Cronin graduated from St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana and then earned an M.D. from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. Her internship was at St. Francis Hospital, Evanston. Dr. Cronin then completed her residency in Ophthalmology at Loyola and a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at University of Illinois Chicago Eye and Ear Infirmary. She has been practicing at Loyola and Elmhurst Clinic for many years. At Loyola, Dr. Cronin taught numerous medical students and residents and was involved in research.
