Marni Tahvlian, O.D. specializes in pediatrics, binocular vision, and developmental disabilities. She concentrates her practice on the medical treatment of strabismus and amblyopia.
Dr. Tahvlian graduated with honors from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and German. She earned her Doctorate with honors from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. Dr. Tahvlian furthered her training by completing a pediatric primary care residency at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.
Dr. Tahvlian gained professional experience at The University of Chicago as a Clinical Associate within the Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Department. She additionally served as an Adjunct Faculty Clinical Instructor for the Illinois College of Optometry. Dr. Tahvlian has enjoyed giving educational talks at local, regional and national conferences, yet her greatest passion has been her many trips to Central America, providing eye care and glasses for those in need.
Dr. Tahvlian is certified by the Illinois Board of Optometric Examiners.
Dr. Tahvlian is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She stays active in the community, and serves as a board member for multiple nonprofits including the Center for Independence for Conductive Education, and for Working Together Chicago, an organization that provides employment services for those with developmental disabilities.
