Thomas S. Michelson, M.D. specializes in anterior segment surgery, including LASIK and refractive surgery.
Dr. Michelson received his B.S. degree from Aurora University and is a graduate of the University of Health Sciences Chicago Medical School, where he also completed an internship in internal medicine. His residency in ophthalmology at Loyola University was followed by a fellowship at the Illinois Cornea Center in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. This fellowship included in-depth training in advanced corneal refractive surgical techniques including radial keratotomy, ALK and excimer laser surgery.
Dr. Michelson is a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist and provides surgical care in the area of laser vision correction. He started the laser vision program at Wheaton Eye Clinic in 1995. He has performed thousands of procedures including PRK, PTK, LASIK, and LASEK. Currently, he uses the Alcon Laser Suite, an all-laser system.
Dr. Michelson is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Michelson is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
