Good Days Program

Good Days Chronic Disease Fund: Lack of Funding for 2025

In the past, patients with Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans were eligible to enroll in the Good Days program, a national non-profit charitable organization, which assisted with offsetting the cost of patient responsibility for certain injections based on financial need.

Unfortunately, Good Days has not received adequate funding to continue to provide assistance for all eligible patients. Good Days has closed funding for new enrollees for the Macular Disease & Retina Disease programs. In addition, the program has not received adequate funding to continue to assist existing patients already enrolled.

What This Means for Our Patients:

As a result, unless there is additional funding received, patients will be responsible for their deductibles & coinsurance amounts for each visit. As participating providers with Medicare, Wheaton Eye Clinic is required by federal law to collect unmet deductible, and coinsurance amounts for Medicare and Medicare Advantage plan beneficiaries. The Wheaton Eye Clinic recognizes the importance of continued treatment for their patients. If you are unable to afford your out-of-pocket expense for your injections, please do not skip your scheduled appointment – there may be other treatment options available that you can discuss with your physician. We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as more information becomes available. Wheaton Eye Clinic remains committed to helping our patients maintain their eye health and will continue working to find solutions for those affected by these changes.
